Atlanta Area Housing Market “Vibrant”
May 6th, 2008 Categories: Alpharetta, Ball Ground, Buford, Canton, Cherokee County, Forsyth County, Fulton County, Gwinnett County, Holly Springs, Johns Creek, Milton, Real Estate Forum, Roswell, Sandy Springs
Former federal Housing Secretary Henry Cisneros says metro Atlanta’s housing
market is being spared the worst of the national slump due to the region’s
comparatively vibrant economy.
“Metro Atlanta arguably has the most dynamic economic market in the country,” Cisneros said last week while in the Atlanta area.
Cisneros predicted metro Atlanta’s home prices and its overall housing industry will rebound sooner than other regions in the country. The local market continues to be reinforced by the influx of talented people seeking opportunities, he said. Factors contributing to local economic strength include hospitals and health care facilities, universities and the many fortune 500 companies Visit Site For List Of Companys who make Atlanta their home address.
Henry Cisneros was secretary of the Housing and Urban Development department from 1993 to 1996. For more info on Henry Cisneros visit About Henry Cisneros.

Lake Arrowhead In Cherokee County, Your Not Dreaming!
April 16th, 2008 Categories: Cherokee County, Neighborhood Profiles
Lake Arrowhead in Georgia is located in a gated private community near the town of Waleska, GA. It is Georgia’s largest
private man made lake at 540 acres, construction on the dam started in the late 1960’s. 14 miles of shoreline surrounds the water and the lake measures two miles from the North end to the South end. Being fed by a spring leaves it always full or nearly full, and it boasts depths of up to 80 feet.
Lake Arrowhead, in northern Cherokee County, started out in the 1970s as a resort community, populated mostly by weekenders, vacationers and retirees. Lake Arrowhead opened for development in 1973 and there was a rush of home building. At the time I-575 did not exist and Lake Arrowhead was harder to get to than it is today. The initial development pace slowed down some, the community continued to grow steadily and over 1,000 homes were built from 1973 to 2006.
Its mountain views, pristine lakes, golf course and country club amenities continue to attract new residents. Add to this, a dynamic new 18-hole
golf Course to open in 2008, a generous array of outstanding amenities (some existing and many now in the planning stages), 8,000+ acres of lush woodland and you have all the ingredients required to live the rewarding lifestyle you and
your family have only been dreaming about.
In recent years, more families have made permanent homes there, thanks in part to telecommuting and the growth
of corporate centers and business offices in the area, and in part to its proximity to Atlanta. Lake Arrowhead is a self-contained neighborhood. Residents enjoy the casual laid-back lifestyle as well as close proximity to a major international city and nearby corporate center
s. Lake Arrowhead provides all the privacy and security of a gated, master-planned community within the magnificent foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains.
With major residential development at the Great Brook Preserve area at Lake Arrowhead, residents will soon enjoy a host of new amenities and a new quality of life that is unprecedented in golf and lake communities in metropolitan Atlanta and North Georgia.
It has its own water and sewer system, volunteer fire department, security patrol and street maintenance crew. The community is gated, with 24-hour attendants at both of its gates. The community’s common property and amenities are owned by the developers.
Lake Arrowhead’s destiny changed forever when an AJC Newspaper article on September 6 of 2006 announced that the Johnson Development Company is partnering with Purcell to develop the remaining 5,800 acres of Lake Arrowhead. Johnson Development Company is renowned for it’s expertise in developing large
communities. They were the developers of the hugely successful
Towne Lake and BridgeMill neighborhoods. Their vision for Lake Arrowhead
GA is exciting and the improvements are
substantial.
