Where Do We Put Our Boats? Drought Conditions On Lake Lanier In North Atlanta

The drought continues to wreck havoc on Lake Lanier. 

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is recommending people pull their boats out of Lake Lanier before they are left stranded in the mud.  Officials say many of the boat ramps and docks might soon be out of the water.  Because people are following the recommendation by the Corps of Engineers, it is becoming difficult to find dry storage for your boat.  Such low levels of water also mean underwater dangers for boaters.  Many of the permanent markers warning of underwater hazards are already “high and dry”. 

What Is Our Solution For North Atlantas Rain Drought.

  • The key for Lake Lanier’s recovery is rain. 

Forecasters say the dry conditions will continue for months.

Amphitheatre Coming to Alpharetta. Will Host Leading Musical Artists!!

Atlanta Area Alpharetta Amphitheatre Westside ParkwayAlpharetta is getting a first class concert venue!!  The Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park is expected to open in May of 2008.  Encore Park is located off Westside Parkway, which is across the Ga. 400 from the North Point Mall area.  Construction began in June of 2007 and will seat more than 7,000 under the roof and another 5,000 on the manicured lawn.  Two wide plazas that surround the facility will provide dining prior to the event or after for a late night snack. 

In keeping with Alpharetta’s designation as “Tree City USA“, the landscape architect will preserve the park-like setting of the 45 acre property.  The amphitheatre will host leading artists, popular entertainment acts, classical and orchestral performances, community festivals and graduation ceremonies.  Parking for more than 2,600 vehicles will be available on site with additional parking available surrounding the venue.
